So much for Malaysian first and race the next

In recent exchange of words between Lim Kit Siang and DPM just clearly shown the hypocrisy at its best. Lim Kit Siang had asked the DPM whether he is Malay first or Malaysian first. DPM gave his honest answer by saying he is Malay first and Malaysian the next. If we would want to be politically correct, the answer should be Malaysian first. But honesty bites. LKS should ask himself back whether he is Chinese first or Malaysian first?. I am sure the answer is Malaysian first given the popularity and political mileage he would gain from it. We should ask him back whether his supporters by any chance are trying to assimilate with the Malay or they just do not care. I was mesmerized by MCA leaders who are able to speak Malay fluently and this trend is not happening in DAP. Something as simple as language can be an indicator whether you care to assimilate with the majority or otherwise. What a shame to be a Malaysian when you could not speak the language properly. Take an example how assimilation works really well by Chinese in Kelantan. They can speak very fluent Kelantanese dialect and in return the Malays give them trust. Language can be used as a tool to crush race barriers but no one could force you to speak any language. Assimilation comes from our inner will and sincerity not from Malaysian Malaysia, Middle Malaysia or even 1Malaysia.So much for Malaysian first ah?
