Week in a glance

1. So much noise about signboard in many languages in Penang and Bumi's NEP equity. This whole stuffs reminded me of Prof Khoo Kay Kim press statement, "Kita harus memujuk bukan menuntut.Menuntut mungkin tak dapat tetapi memujuk lambat laun akan dapat juga".

2. Newsweek on Sarah Palin, "She beat Biden by not imploding. But governing requires knowledge, not mindless populism". Spot on. Something we have to ponder upon in choosing our leaders for the next election in Malaysia.Popularity alone does not prove a person's competency.

3. Minyak turun 15 sen!Thank you.

4. Great recession is looming ahead. Global share prices sharp fall is perceived as the epitome of 1929 Great Depression. Nevertheless politic arena seemed to take the center stage in Malaysia when global economy situation almost caused Iceland goes bankrupt. For the record, Iceland is the 4th most productive country with GDP around 50000 USD. That is the fact of Malaysia, her people more interested in loitering at 'kedai kopi' hoping to solve 'national issues'.What a productive way of living. Then they will get angry when somebody questioned their '30%'

5. Reminder to all overstayed Malaysians in UK to comeback before you are black listed or worse to be deported.New UK VISA regulations are to be enforced starting next year. My student visa expired yesterday but i am home since August. I would love to go back to UK probably to do Master's. We'll see.

6. Have a nice week ahead!

PM not contesting

As everybody had predicted, he will not contesting for the better. At least national issues will subside and probably it will steer this country to a calmer water. Unless there is certain someone would like to be Mr PM undemocratically. He will always be in history of Malaysia politics. The man who led his party to achieve the best and worst ever result in election since 1969 . I think he is way too honest as compared to his predecessors. He has had tried his best to fight rampant corruptions in politics but so far to no avail. He even exposed skeletons in his own closet. It seems that only in his reign when many corrupted people were exposed and charged. But in terms of Malaysia politics, his move only to expose himself to attacks from oppositions. One can never be 100% clean in politic regardless who you are or which parties you are in. Politic is famously known as the Art of Possible. Put a deep thought and you will get it what it meant.Do not see politic as only BN and PR stuffs. Think about workplace politic, organization politic, or even your Jabatan blablabla politic. So do not come to me and say I will fight for the cause of rakyat or I will change this country for the better. It is not that I am pessimistic about change in Malaysia but I am not easily buying stuffs without thinking. I am not a gullible person. Sometimes we live to choose the lesser of two evils. To me the evils are the power-mongering and hypocrites.

Enough of rambling for today. Selamat berpuase enam kepada yang mahu berpuasa sempena bulan Syawal ni.
